Purpose

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) analyses is a simulation technique used to predict stress and strain conditions in specific components. This could enable the designer to find the optimal design with regard to material selection of materials, in addition to limit the level of destructive testing.

Benefits

DNV’s competence in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) can help the client determine the optimal design with respect to material selection, in addition to limit the level of destructive testing needed.

Features

DNV performs detailed FEA analyses of structural and machinery components, either as a stand-alone service or combined with testing and re-analysis for a complete evaluation of component performance.

DNV has at its disposal personnel that are well qualified for advanced FEA assessment, with access to the most advanced software.

Currently, the IDEAS cad-system is used for modelling and linear analysis, whereas ABAQUS is employed for more advanced, non-linear analyses.
