Maros version 8.3 and Taro Refinery version 4.3 have been released and are available for download from the DNV Software Customer Portal.

The major improvement to both products is related to the speed up of the simulation time.
The new version of Maros has the capability of running multiple studies in different cores of a computer's processor. The Batch run feature can be used for running sensitivity cases.
Taro version 4.3 was the main focus of the speed up project. Due to the high complexity of many large models, the simulation time could typically be many hours. Taro 4.3 is now capable of running a single study using the whole capacity of a multi-core processor and it also has the capability of calculating different studies on different cores. Using the new version of the software, a decrease of 50% to 80% run time can be achieved.
A range of new usability features are aimed at creating a better user experience by improving the efficiency of building models. This means that more time can be spent on getting the right inputs and analyzing the results.
There are major enhancements in the user interface for both Maros 8.3 and Taro 4.3, such as:
- The failure Mode Grid which shows items that are conditional Logic triggers,
- Scheduled Activity Grid which shows items that are conditional Logic triggers and
- Improved running average graph scaling
A number of improvements have also been made when it comes to Seasonal Repair Distributions. Formerly Maros permitted 6 season to be defined, and Taro had none. This release introduces up to 12 seasons for Maros and Taro. Additionally, for these 12 seasons, Maros and Taro now support multiple repair distributions. Previously Maros only supported Log Normal distributions. This provides more flexibility and a higher level of detail allowing you to represent realistic scenarious in your analysis.
The latest release of both the Safeti Performance Forecasting products, Maros and Taro, comes with an Application Updater utility that keeps track of major and minor releases as these become available. The Application Utility notifies users when an update is available and gives the user the opportunity to update Maros and Taro, via a single click.
We believe that more detailed studies of logistics constraints can be achieved using this range of new improvements.
