DNV Navigator Fleet consists of two parts: Fleet Vessel and Fleet Office. Fleet Vessel is included in the standard version of DNV Navigator. It is however, not operational until Fleet Office has been installed in the office of the company that is managing the vessel. The purpose of Fleet is to exchange information between vessels and the office. This is done by means of email attachment, almost in the same way as used for weekly corrections.

The Fleet modules
The Fleet modules functionality simplifies exchange of information between ship and shore by means of email. The office module gives a complete view of Crew and Passenger Data, Status of Certificates, Store Lists and Masters Notes across a fleet of vessels and makes it easy to transfer data from one vessel to another. In order to get maximum effect of Fleet, it should be used in combination with Navigator Server Software.
DNV Navigator Fleet simplifies exchange of management and operational data between ship and shore. It stores and maintains all ship data in the office, and can be used in planning for individual ships or the whole fleet.
Transmission of information
Data is primarily sent as attachments to email.
On board version
Fleet is bundled with Navigator version 7.43 or higher, but an office version is needed to process the data ashore. Fleet can be accessed on board by clicking Data Entry & Logs - Fleet.
The dialogue box displays information that can be sent from the ship to the office.
Office version
The Fleet office version is different from the on board version. We have designed it to handle more than one ship, and more than one group of ships. But in order to display ship data, office users must transfer data from Fleet to Navigator, where it can be analysed or modified, and then exported back.
Examples of useful data exchange are:
- crew information
- office operational data
- safety/security information
- ship operational data
- etc.
